Midwifery

About the Programme

The Midwifery programme prepares professionally competent midwives to provide safe, respectful, and comprehensive care to women, newborns, and families before, during, and after childbirth. The programme responds to the continuing need for skilled maternal and newborn healthcare professionals in Cameroon and across Africa.

Students develop knowledge and practical skills in: Antenatal Care, Normal Pregnancy, Childbirth, Management of Labour, Postnatal Care, Newborn Care, Reproductive Health, Family Planning, Health Education, Nutrition, Emergency Obstetric Care, Recognition & Management of Complications, Respectful Maternity Care, Infection Prevention, Professional Ethics, Communication, and Team Collaboration.

Students receive practical and clinical exposure that enables them to apply classroom knowledge in real healthcare environments. They learn to support mothers throughout childbirth while promoting the health and wellbeing of both mother and baby.
