Programme
The Medical Imaging programme prepares students to become competent healthcare professionals who use modern imaging technologies to assist in the detection, diagnosis, monitoring, and management of diseases and injuries.
Students are introduced to the scientific principles and practical applications of medical imaging, including radiographic techniques, imaging equipment, patient positioning, image quality, anatomy, pathology, radiation protection, patient care, and professional ethics. Depending on the programme structure and approved areas of specialization, students may also be exposed to other medical imaging modalities and technologies.
Practical and clinical training is an important component of the programme. Students learn how to prepare patients for imaging procedures, operate imaging equipment appropriately, produce quality diagnostic images, maintain safety standards, and communicate effectively with patients and other members of the healthcare team.
The programme responds to the increasing importance of diagnostic imaging in modern healthcare and the need for properly trained imaging professionals in Cameroon and beyond.
